Grant administration, strategic planning, financial oversight, project management and community benefit planning

Describe the philosophy you bring to your work:

I believe in keeping things simple, authentic, and focused on what really matters. I listen first to understand what people need and what they are trying to accomplish. I am straightforward and honest in my approach, and I like to bring a little fun to the process whenever I can. I believe in building strong, respectful relationships and working together to find practical, realistic solutions. I am organized, goal-oriented, and always focused on helping clients move their projects forward in a way that feels achievable and meaningful.

How do you use your skills to help our clients?

With over 32 years of experience in higher education and workforce development, I have worked closely with businesses, nonprofits, and community organizations to create impactful opportunities. My approach focuses on building strong relationships and partnerships, which are key to achieving lasting success. I have secured and managed more than $45 million in federal, state, and foundation grants, and I enjoy helping clients take a strategic approach to funding, starting with understanding their goals and finding the right funding sources to get them there. My background in grant development, project management, and facilitation allows me to support clients in developing competitive proposals and successful projects that truly make a difference.

Educational background/achievements:

I hold a B.S. in Business Administration and Management from the University of Wisconsin–River Falls and a master’s in Educational Administration from the University of South Dakota. I am also certified in several professional development areas, including Compression Planning and Crucial Conversations training. In addition, I am a certified Business Process Improvement Facilitator and Certified Program Planner.

Board service:

I have a long history of community involvement and leadership through service on a variety of local boards and committees. I served on the New Richmond Chamber of Commerce Board including three years on the Executive Committee and my final year as Board Chair. I serve on the Executive Committee for Riverwood Nature Center. I have also been active with the St. Croix Valley Employers Association. I have contributed my time and support to several community organizations, including the Caregiver Coalition, Adoray Home Health and Hospice, and Turningpoint for Victims of Domestic & Sexual Assault, where I also served on the Executive Committee.

What do you like to do in your free time?

My husband and I spend most of our summer in Northern Wisconsin, where we enjoy musky fishing together. I also love going to see local bands; there is nothing better than great music on a patio. I am an avid reader and always have a book with me. I also really enjoy taking classes and learning new skills which keeps me inspired and curious.
